Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which raddit.me collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the https://raddit.me website ("Site").

Personal identification information

We will collect personal identification information from Users (their email address) only if they voluntarily submit such information to us when they register an account on the site. Users are not obliged to offer their email address when registering, but if they do choose to provide it, it will only be used for password retrieval purposes in the case that the User forgets their password and needs to reset it, and potentially to notify users in the event that these Terms of Service or Privacy Policy are updated. Users may also visit our Site anonymously and browse without creating an account.

IP addresses are stored for all Users for a period of 7 days, until midnight on the seventh day, when this data is automatically released. IP addresses of Users that have been banned Site-wide by Site administrators for violating our policies will be retained until said Users are unbanned or we no longer require the data to secure the Site from their spam or abuse.

Non-personal identification information

We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Site. This non-personal identification information is simply any headers your browser makes available to us. This information will only be used to identify and ban spammers and trolls.

Web browser cookies

Our Site may use two "cookies" to enhance User experience. These cookies are named "PHPSESSID" and "REMEMBERME". User's web browser places these cookies on their hard drive so that they remain logged in to the site on return visits. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent, and instead log in manually each visit. Cookies are only used in so far as they are required for the technical working of the system, and we never use them to track you on third party sites.

How we use collected information

raddit.me may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes:

To run and operate our Site, each User is identified by their IP address, this allows us to remove spammers and trolls more effectively by banning their IP addresses. Your IP addresses will only be stored by our Site for 7 days, whereupon each IP address will be automatically released at midnight on the seventh day. The only exception to this is Users that are "IP banned" by the site administrators. We will store the IPs of users that are banned site-wide for as long as we need to in order to prevent spam and abuse, or until they are unbanned.

We will use the provided email address to allow Users to reset their passwords.

How we protect your information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your email address, username and password stored on our Site.

Sharing your personal information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others.

External links

Users may find links to other websites on our Site. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website's own terms and policies.

Compliance with children's online privacy protection act

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important to us. For that reason, we deny access to our Site to those we actually know are under 16, and no part of our Site is structured to attract anyone under 16.

Changes to this privacy policy

raddit.me has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. If we do update it, 14 days in advance of the change, we will post a notification on the main page of our Site and email you the same notification (if you have provided us with an email address). We will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page when the change takes place. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect your data. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of any modifications.

Your acceptance of these terms

By using this Site, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
