  1. Source organic waste matter in large quantities e.g. empty hulls from a nut or seed processing factory.

  2. Transport it to the site.

  3. Have a digger or tractor or a lot of humans work the organic matter into the soil.

This will greatly increase the water holding capacity of the soil.

  1. Dig trenches and ponds to catch water and prevent run-off.

  2. Plant nitrogen fixing trees. Whichever ones are native in your area. Wait for them to establish themselves.

  3. Plant fruit trees between the nitrogen fixers.
