Can you imagine a world less dependant on global trade? We should have smaller ships, less ships, slower ships. Necessities should be produced close to home for security and sustainability. I advocate for a free global Internet, but what is it that should be sent around the world in airplanes and sea ships so much? What do you think an "anarchist country" would need to trade with another country?

Some specialized goods could travel the world by organized, efficient, economical wayroutes just as some travelers do. Global exchange will hopefully soon decrease in volume and velocity in preference of sustainability.

Yves and Beyond meats burgers offer something for everyone's taste whether that be simulated flesh or just a bean patty with some nice spices. And then all the millions spent on developing the lab-grown meat will have been worthwhile so we can feed ours cats once we shut down all the factory farms.

Minetest is good and Microsoft isn't ever going to make the Cave Update or any fun updates to Minecraft so it's better off using minetest for advanced gamemodes and modding.

They offhandedly suggests using Linux for Tor use as if Windows doesn't come with a keylogger/backdoors preinstalled. If you're using Windows you're already compromised of course.

I found it interesting they claim you must use Tor for all initial network handshakes, that Tor must be initialized from boot, in order for it to be secure. All the more reason to use Tails OS I suppose.

When I first switched to a safety razor a few years ago I had trouble finding any stores that sold double edge blades. The only products I could find sold 5-pack blades in a plastic cartridge wrapped in more plastic packaging. Then I bought a pack of 100 blades online for $10. These didn't come with any plastic packaging only a bit of thin cardboard and wax paper.

I love Paul Stamets. He is so knowledgeable about fungi and has so much experience in the old growth forests. He is uncovering secrets about fungi and some of his findings are mind blowing and also actionable. His film Fantastic Fungi is pretty good, but if you're really interested I would check out his websites and his interviews with Joe Rogan are also informative.

Sometimes browsing through the controversial filter on sites like Reddit can be show the interesting comments. That'd be the most highly upvoted comments that were also downvoted a lot.

No need for anything like that on raddle, our comment threads aren't very big.

The Amazon is being destroyed to grow soy. Vegans aren't the ones consuming these soy plants though. 90% of it is grown as animal feed.

In grade 5 science we learned about energy pyramids and how only 10% of the calories eaten by an animal will be passed up the food chain to the predator. Cows are methane farting calorie burning machines that take an absurd amount of feed and water to yield a pound of meat.

And yeah because of the stupid amount of feed needed for cows the farmers probably end up killing tons of little creatures with harvesting machines. A lot less field mice would die if more people we're vegan.

But the thought of bean burgers causing field mice to die makes you feel more comfortable eating your nuggies and Cheetos. And so you probably won't even read these responses to your comment. You could probably find some like-minded meatheads in the comments under your favourite YouTube video or subreddit. You might even get some precious upvotes if you share your idea elsewhere.

If Firefox dies then the Chrome monopoly will be the end of a free internet.

Firefox and it derivatives are important because creating a web browser from scratch isn't feasible any longer. What forks of Firefox should we support if Mozillas politics continues to diverge from their roots?

A network of fungi exists in the soil of our forests. The trees share nutrients and information through their roots and along the fungi synapse network. Fungi provides a memory of the life of a forest and helps plant life communicate and cooperate.

It is the paper that LSD and other drugs are soaked onto. It is perforated to make it simple to split up the paper into tiny squares, or tabs for an individuals consumption. A blotter paper may be an array of as many as 400 tabs. Usually a densely detailed and colourful illustration is printed onto the paper before adding drugs. Two tabs with similar artwork may be assumed to have come from the same batch.
