They should read up on background -- eg: Marx, Althuser, Gramsci, Lenin, Goldman, Newton, Chomsky -- to build a framework for understanding the extremely complex intersections of racism, imperialism, and capitalism that lie behind the story of Israel and Palestine. It would be hard to make a compelling argument to someone who does not have solid critiques of modern power structures to draw upon.
