Thanks, I was shaking my head the entire time. Got tired of that place pretty quick. I think they probably would've deleted it, except the person I was talking to was a different admin than the one who created the site and has been doing the majority of the censorship (dessalines). Also, it happened before the "brigade" and mass-deletion spree, so they were less laser-focused on removing anything remotely resembling criticism. I did get this beauty taken down, though.

It's pretty hilarious how not they still defend Russia, which openly and messily de-sovietified and is a completely capitalist nation. they literally don't give a single fuck about policy or ideology, it's all about being contrarians to anything America does, whatever the cost.

The admins were censoring anarchist posts that couldn't even be construed as an attack on any of their favorite totalitarian states. They just had an axe to grind and wanted to suppress people any way possible.

My inexpert take is that most people are satisfied using the default options provided to them by Google, Microsoft, etc. so they don't have any incentive to seriously seek out alternatives, while those who do are already technically-minded people. Thus, the ones who provide them have an incentive to gear their services towards that smaller group, rather than making them as user-friendly as possible. A self-reinforcing divide, maybe?
