It might have gotten popularized in English speaking anime communities, but doesn't really come from anime and manga. It's also kind of always been used to describe real people regardless of their identity. There's also transphobic and homophobic ideas that are kind of implied by the term.
These are really good picks. I love Araki's stuff. I also really love of The Living End. Kaboom is cool, too, it's harder for me to recommend, but I got a lot out of it.
Pulse is just one of my favorite movies. I love how tense Kurosawa's films can be. Even something more grounded that definitely isn't horror like Autumn Tokyo Sonata, which I definitely recommend, manages to achieve some of that tension
I hope. I have a harder time finding good quality, well seeded torrents than I used to even for pretty mainstream stuff. Right now the obscure super niche stuff is the easiest to steal because I get it off private trackers.
I feel sort of the same way, so I prefer to avoid engaging with it. I feel like arguing that it isn't a choice is sort of conceding that homosexuality would be wrong if it were a choice, and I'm not into that.
I'm not about pretending to get along with someone hoping they change their mind about whether I deserve to be treated as a human because I don't do gender their way, but there are plenty of places where you can do that if you think that'll work.
And it's not like anyone can tell if someone is a fascist before they post some fascist bullshit. There's nothing stopping them from just "sitting among us", or whatever.
It gives workers an incentive to stall the clock and more efficient workers don't have anything to gain
How is this different from wage labor? Like I used to stock a grocery store. I was there for as long as it took to get through the contents of that day's truck. I got paid more if I took my time. I was definitely incentivized to stall the clock.
And like even working a job that's always 8 hours a day for 5 days a week I get paid the same regardless of how much I work. I have no real incentive to finish anything before its deadline, so there's still no incentive to work efficiently.
Generally I like a lot of arcade-y stuff like shmups and rhythm games. Lately Pacman CE and Wipeout have been my favorites for releiving a bit of stress. If I had to pick like an all time favorite its probably like Soul Blazer.
I don't play a lot of tabletop stuff, but I really love like some Riichi Mahjong any time I can get 3 other people together for a game, but that can be tough.
I guess I'd say it's about young adults navigating various types of relationships in the face of looming apocalyptic dread and there are some lizard aliens, maybe. It reminds me a lot of the movie Kaboom.
