I can’t feel anything. I’m a “natural” at things like this because idgaf, have no respect for authority or societal norms/rules, and am a sociopathic chameleon of sorts. When I say I truly believe that the shit I take is mine, that’s how shopping works in my mind, and it feels more “wrong” to me to pay for something than just taking it, I mean it. Hook me up to a lie detector. I will pass because this really is how my brain is trained.

Thank you again for the work you put into these.

One note on fitting room cams - you might want to update it to state that if cameras are used in fitting rooms, there must a notice posted stating such. To my knowledge, this is still a requirement for fitting room cams.

Echoing what SOH said as it’s all in point. This isn’t for you. A lot times, LP leave people alone if they are stealing small amounts of essential items. So you must be REALLY bad or there’s something else you aren’t telling us that would make you an unsympathetic character. No judgment here, but if that’s the case, do whatever it takes to rectify that for the sake of your child.

I need to clarify though - have you been arrested 3 times or just pulled aside by LP? I am guessing just LP since you are starting a new job Monday. I can’t imagine many jobs willing to hite someone with multiple theft records. Anyway, you can’t screw up that source of income, so stop now.

Ouch. Stuff like this is rare, but it happens. I’m sorry it happened to you. I am guessing the amount you stole was well over felony level for it to come to this. I’m glad you met with an attorney, and it wouldn’t hurt to get a second opinion. As the first mentioned, warrants don’t expire and most are entered into databases viewable across state lines. You don’t want to be pulled over in another state with a warrant. Anyway, I would ask 2-3 attorneys what their strategies are for getting you off with the lowest charges as well as their fee structure.

Gym bag of it fits your persona. Fits a ton. If not, a cross body messenger or Whole Foods reusable. And a shopping bag from a neighboring store works well too.

I’m glad you felt comfortable enough to put yourself. I am very similar in that I don’t use social media, I don’t sign up for anything, I don’t leave reviews, Hell I didn’t even post on Reddit. I lurked for 9 months before feeling okay about finally posting here.

That’s why I just ultimately give away most of what I don’t use or wind up with. Much more fulfilling to help friends out or people who don’t have much than deal with selling to people who want 80-90% discount on new stuff. If I was that worried about it, I would reduce the price to 150 and sell it in an hour. I’m fortunate I don’t need the money. I feel for anyone who has to turn to resale to keep a roof over their head or feed their children. Sucks.

Well if I am not helpful, I will see myself out then. Maybe reread some of the info though. I said it was the first cashier that scammed you, not two separate ones. Also, it’s hard to follow everything when all the available facts aren’t in the first post and are scattered around in your responses saying that the people trying to help you (given limited facts) are wrong as you add more facts. Finally, as I mentioned, without seeing the photos you posted online and having all the facts, giving a complete answer is difficult. So if I am “rudimentary” and “elementary” as you claim, consider that input in equals input out in most cases.

I could say more, but there’s no need to point out some of the irony in all this. I will let people come to their own conclusions. Just take note of how you communicated and approached people in this thread.

Completely unrelated, but I want to make a recommendation to anyone reading. There’s a book called “How to Win Friends and Influence People.” Steal from wherever fine books are sold.

Show me where in any of my significant contributions to helping you solve your mystery have I broken any rules? If my matter of factness makes you feel unwelcome, I can’t do anything about that. That’s on you. I sometimes get a little vexed with repetition and people doing what most would consider to be universally a bad way of approaching things and respond with a certain level of sarcasm, but none of that has happened here.

No I’m not. I have it exactly right. So I will repeat myself which I hate doing. The cashier processed your fraudulent return. You were handed a gift card and a receipt showing the amount on the cards. You leave.

The cashier can then transfer that balance to new cards which we can assume isn’t the case because you claim that the store told you cards bearing the same numbers as yours were redeemed in other stores. So that means the cashier (or depending on the pics you put online, someone else) duplicated the cards and sold them or distributed them to their network.

Judgmental? I haven’t called you a dipshit or a dumbass... yet. There’s a difference between being judgmental and stating facts.

Fact - you broke the law by stealing merchandise and returning it.

Judgment - you are as immoral a pedobear rapist for stealing from stores because society says it’s wrong and you should do what society says and not break laws.
