let's say you want a new video game or whatever you want.

  1. legit buy it, keep receipt
  2. go home and open to see if it has source tags
  3. if it doesn't, go back to store and take it
  4. go back another time and return the second item

Or just don't buy it and open in store to see if it's tagged. I do either, depending on which WM I'm in around my area. One store has like no cameras and another has a ton of cameras. So if i have the opportunity to open it and check, I will and just take it. Just be careful, because I've been seeing an increase in source tags actually put inside the items now, not just the box

Former WM employee: the LP in that store were plain clothes and chatted through bluetooths, not walkies. Management had walkies and are plain clothes as well. Management is usually too busy with other shit to care about someone not paying for something or walking out

I took a koosh ball from kmart when i was a kid and my dumb ass showed my dad. took me right back up there and had to tell the manager who tried to scare me by telling me he was going to take me to jail. obviously i didn't learn :) went to college as a young naive girl and wanted to expand my cd collection. I went into target and just started opening them in the aisles and taking the discs out. Learned real fast that stores had cameras, LP was real, they won't let you stop by the bathroom to ditch everything before going to the office, and they do prosecute :)

You can buy the item, make sure there are no source tags, go back and conceal then return it. I wouldn't buy it, go grab it again a few days later and try to return the same day.
