Basically what others said—depends on what you like? I cook vegetarian, but ends up being vegan most of the time. fwiw if you feel like something you can usually end up looking online for "recipe vegan"
or cookbooks can be really useful

I think that's the weird part, not necessarily creating alts (like people pointed out, pretty standard behaviour for new forums, inflate interactions to make it seem more active) but sticking with it for so long, and in that way? I mean I'm new here, but reading it now… it's crossing a whole bunch of lines, over and over again, without remorse. idk, I tend to be pretty lenient with forgiveness but I think there's a difference between forgiveness and blind foolishness.

Reply to Religious anarchists - how do you square organized religion with anarchism when it's so hierarchical and authoritative? by watermelon
I've been thinking about this because it's still on my front page and I realised that raddle is the same problem, or the same solution.
Also highly organised (into subfora, wikis, etc), hierarchical and authoritative because there's mods, and admins, etc.
So it depends more on how that is set up, I guess. The issue lies elsewhere, but I've yet to exactly figure out where.

You're not uploading for 'a scene', the scene is an elite club of nerds that uploads things. (that is still veeeery much active!) see the wiki for info.
You could do naming, if you're uploading something, if you want to make a name for yourself. It's not just the scene that does this, there's also people that release directly to p2p sites (torrent sites).
There's some discussion there because the scene has a few thoughts: it should be good enough (can't be sloppy), and it should be fast. They don't tend to do it for money or irl fame, it's often a big game, and is kinda fascinating to read into, you hear stories of people getting contacts with CD pressing plants, or with chinese factories nowadays, just to be able to get it out there a day earlier than the rest. On the other hand you've got p2p, people releasing directly to torrent sites, often private trackers. They're not in it for the rush. Au contraire, they're in it to build a community of people releasing the highest quality stuff. So if you see a good p2p encode, you can expect a single movie to be ~20gb. There's lots of discussions there as well about whether quality should come first, or filesize, etc.

i don't know op, or their situation, but i've known a few people going through psychosis and uh, pretty much anything can trigger or make it worse.
although i agree on the parental thing: i think it's something that shouldn't be decided by parents but hopefully with a multi-disciplinary group of independent people, like doctors, people who know op, etc.

I think mostly people tend to see them as very intertwined. And about 'earning' or not, people debate a lot but afaik… well… consider it like a chicken/egg problem, it's interesting to debate and talk about, but the fact is that if you've got a chicken now, or an egg now, you'll have the other either right with it or at least following up very soon. So it's better to make sure chickens & eggs keep happening, and thinking about which leads to what is secondary. It'd be like debating the physics of how parachutes work while you've just jumped off a plane—sure it's interesting, but you know that if you pull the cord stuff will happen, and you want that to happen.
that being said I come from a christian background, but fairly diverse in terms of denominations/thoughts so maybe that's just the way i've seen it, seeing a lot of different opinions.

I like "protestants do "good actions" by love of gods creation and not because they are threatened of going to hell if they're bad.", although I think the bit before that is different when you ask different people. It's not that they don't need good actions, it's that if you've got faith, if you truly believe, then you'll act accordingly. And if you're not acting accordingly, then your beliefs might be off.
For a consumerist example: I would like to buy things that are eco/fairtrade/all that jazz, including clothes, but in practice it's… well, I was gonna say it's too hard, or impossible, or whatever, but in the moment I realise I want/need new clothes and it's "too hard" or "too expensive" to do the right thing, and I buy cheaper/'worse' clothes, I know that my acts are influenced by other beliefs than the ones I claim to have. Apparently there's a belief that my comfort/ease of buying things in that moment is worth more than my moral beliefs that I should buy more eco/fairtrade/whatever clothes.
So I can either start punishing myself over doing the wrong thing, or just see it as a symptom that apparently my beliefs need to be readjusted, i.e. I need to take a good look at my values and steer those more towards a state where it's easier for me to do the right thing next time.

When it's something I've been struggling with and working at. I know I have some (putting it mildly) shortcomings, so when I'm working on bettering, for example, how disciplined I work at something, and someone mentions I did well in that area (without knowing I was working on it!) it really means something.

I haven't heard you sing but I can tell you most people that sing and act confident tend to sing with their mouths/throats open a bit more, and it makes their singing sound nicer. So fake it till you make it works ;)

Not algorithmically no, it's not like it all gets filtered now. But officially yes, it's never ever allowed. Which, like you said, in reality gives them the space to do it to whoever they want.

Hm, KDE neon is the distro that's meant to offer cutting edge KDE though, so it might be a bit borked. Have you tried kubuntu for a more stable option? or debian+kde?
nijntje wrote
I haven't used KDE neon personally, but I've been using kubuntu for a bit and it's not bad at all. KDE takes a bit of tweaking to get set up to how you like it but thankfully most things aren't too hard. Otherwise people here would probably be able to help out.
I do love KDE connect though.
Otherwise the main ubuntu flavour will be switching from unity to gnome (different desktop environments) in a bit so that could be annoying to have to handle with.
There's also the consideration of whether you want to go with a Long Term Support (LTS) version or not. More stable, less frequent possibly-breaking-everything updates, but might have slightly outdated software updates.

also that was only on the mainline ubuntu (with unity), not derivatives or sister-distro's like kubuntu, xubuntu, etc
