People in perpetual survival mode will believe any beautiful lie and attack anyone that dares to burst their bubble.

I think this is key. I'd like to call myself an anarchist and act like one, but right now I'm choosing between rent or healthcare and just desperately clinging to whatever says it can alleviate that. I'll probably keep doing so despite morally and ethically wishing not to, and despite knowing it's not possible anyways.

Good. I've been hoping you'd finally pull the trigger there - this shit isn't worth your time and emotional well-being.

They can host their own instance if it's such an issue, or use another service. Maybe Lemmy or Reddit would be more their styles.

Raddle is more of a news aggregator, but the much-lauded Mastodon seems to carry every issue inherent to Twitter aside from the more blatant forms of bigotry for example. I think they're right on this one.

They can endure a couple 'ok boomers' for pulling the ladder up behind them.

I don't think it's problematic, more seriously, because of its usage - you don't "ok boomer" a nice lad giving you a hand, you "ok boomer" the man who's screaming at you that climate change isn't real.

Why don't she and whoever else just host your own site instead of harassing all the users on this one at this point?

I just know that if Right to Work is abolished, I'll have an easier time organizing with the IWW. If M4A is passed, I'll actually be able to see a doctor. If student debt is wiped out, I'll actually be able to go to college. It's unlikely most of this will pass, but if any of it does I'll be better off. Never mind abroad he's less harmful, e.g. opposing the Bolivian coup at least, which is better than the other presidential options. (He supports other coups, naturally. An imperialist as any other.)

He's a shithead in most ways, but I'm in an area where doing anything as radical as feeding the homeless is illegal - is there anything else I can really do but vote for my own self-interest?

That's a legitimate question. If you have any proposals someone on minimum wage in an area where most leftist activities are illegal, and even the act of being an anarchist is technically illegal, please let loose.

I personally do believe voting is a good idea out of harm-reduction The cited example of Greece, for instance; the new right wing government is already cutting programs and increasing repression even further. It's not that the left wing reduces harm, its that the right wing is more harmful.

But good god I can't stand these people on Reddit who shout down everyone who doesn't want to play in the state's little game because they're such a fan of these rulers.
