Well - here's my perspective: At least in the US """""corporate"""""""" world, there's a certain point to putting in effort. For me, I had a pretty decent graphic design gig for several years, but they paid like shit, and I moved cross country. So, I basically had to start over when I was 30ish. Also, I have no college education. So I had to start at the bottom rung working shitty hours in a shitty position for a shitty company with shitty pay and shitty ethics. But if you put in at least the appearance of effort, that will go a long way. I was able to parlay that appearance of effort to a position that is a little higher up, paid double, and let me basically watch youtube and play hearthstone at my desk for like 6 out of the 8 hours I was at the office. The funny thing is, the further up the ladder I get, the minimum effort becomes way lower. For example: I recently switched companies, and I'm on a team of 4. There only needs to be one of us, and even then, if I were the only one with my duties, I would probably still be able to fuck around most of the day.

Aris is a great example of a guy who has changed his ways. But there's so much horseshit in the fgc that if writers don't do their homework, they can inadvertently feature someone who is...not the best example. I.e. In the last polygon article about fgc inclusovity, the main featured dude is a noted transphobe. Oops!

Idk if any of yall are fgc peeps but holy hell the whole scene is a god damn dumpster fire these past few weeks

It depends on where the transaction was made, and where the buyer is. US makes it easy to initiate a dispute
