Regarding /f/shoplifting, i don't think moving them to /f/illegalism would make a difference. They would be the same users and may continue to attract the same type of people. And frankly, removing it at this point will create a bigger backslash.

not necessarily as some will just leave rather than migrate also, they'd no longer be on what they consider to be "their turf" (regardless of the reality of that statement, it's how they think about that forum). I know as an admin you have other considerations, but I honestly don't give two fucks if they throw tantrums and show us just how reactionary and fascistic they are (we see the mask fall, especially when they either stop caring or think no one is looking) if the forum is deleted. moving to illegalism, they are no longer on "home ground" and so the psychology is different.

but this won't get traction for whatever reason. yeah they're doing better, but it's like trying to reform the system.

we're likely at loggerheads on this though

This is in defense of the hyper-marginalized among the marginalized, the Omelas kids, the marked for death, those who came looking for safety and found something worse than anything they’d experienced before.

Holy fuck, I'm in tears right now because I know this isn't just one or simply a few cases. One time is too many and it's happening a lot more than that. Goddammit. We keep failing our trans family and friends...

The fact that there is a overwhelmingly screaming silence from many of our trans queer comrades who normally are active here since this whole fucking mess went down says volumes. To me it does anyway.

I've said this in numerous places already, but I'll say it again: fuck the shoplifting forum. That's the origin of this whole goddamn thing.

The death threats.

The rape threats.

The suicide goading.

Harassment.

And abuse.

Against several of our trans/queer friends comrades.

Illegalism already encompasses that forum and is anticapitalist by its very nature. There is no need for that cess pool. Those that want to lift makeup and such can do the same on illegalism as more than a few of us were/are lifters.

Concerning collective punishment, we're collectively punishing those being harassed by letting those fuck faces remain here. This isn't too discount the work the admins have put it in to try and curb it, which is greatly appreciated. But it hasn't stopped them.

I value the safety of our radical community members more than some shit heads that are too fucking stubborn to simply follow the ToS AND not be shitty. That's not too say the admins don't value them as they clearly do from what they've been trying to do. But it's not stopping the mess and shoplifting is what brings them here.

Add to that the whole thing with Mao, action was eventually taken but how many people are gone because of that?

I'm being careful to not attack anyone in writing this (other than the dipshits from shoplifting who are harassing our friends) so please take that into account when responding. I know admins have lives can't be here all the time. That's not the issue. So please don't use that.

We can't err on the side of caution when their wellbeing is on the line.

If you look at my posts today, one will likely notice a theme. It's standing with the marginalized and neglected.

As n_n has pointed out, there are a lot of unanswered questions about just what the fuck really went on. Especially wrt bandit and who did those actions. It wasn't all n_n or AC. That much is clear.

The silence has been deafening. I want my friends to come back and not just feel safe but to be safe. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this. (I'm about to go to bed so if I don't respond it's because I'm asleep)

Kinda vague. Like decision making on what to eat? No idea. On enforcement of ToS, probably imo.

np and I'm glad to hear you've got someone there to help support you IRL as well. it's fucked up and can be really hard to deal with. I lost my friend about a year ago, so I understand a little of what it's like. you, or anybody, are always welcome to hit me up anytime for anything, just to talk or whatever. your friend's lucky to have someone like you around as well.

fuck, I'm sorry, that's really hard. I know what it's like to have a friend take their life and I hope you're doing okay too, at least as well as can be expected.

A group I was part of used to talk and had dealings with a lot of people who had suicidal ideation and several people there helped put together a short guide of sorts on this. If you think it might be useful, I'll share a link to the first part and one to the last part (which has links to the others). this shit's never easy. :(

do you need anything for you? for them? asking seriously
