I liked he comment about Stirner‘s philosophy being garbage, compared him to Ayn Rand, and then told the internet to read Marx.

Marx‘s philosophy aside, why recommend him to someone who isnt used to reading theory? Capital is a nightmare to read for most people.

Also just checked out Saidit, wow looks like garbage. I dont want to waste my time reading low effort posts by enlightened centrists and arguing about stuff where someone is obviously wrong.

Im gonna be a smart ass and say the site is missing a lot of users.

But really, it might be nice to move away the the Reddit/News Aggregate format. The ephemeral nature of the upvote system lowers long term attention spans, dissuades posts of effort ("its gone tomorrow and it will be buried so deep I might as well not even try"), and slightly lowers the sense of community because of the combination of those things.

The benefits of sticking to the Reddit format is the familiarity creates a smooth transition for newcomers which is not something to be overlooked.

LostYonder brought up a good point about old school internet bulletin boards. I think the drawback to that is that the standard format found online is being associated with old posts found on search engines while troubleshooting, and not about a strong internet community.

I was also thinking about subraddles and if they are neccessary or not. For more specific things yes, but when a lot of posts are about intersectional topics im not quite so sure?

Like the online bullitein boards that were all the rage on the internet 15 years ago but the rise of MySpace and Facebook slowly died away? Im not sure if thats what you mean but ya, that imo is a much better forum for online discussion.

This would require an entire rewrite of Postmill I would think though.

The thing about business with these signs is that their employees can still say yes at their discretion, read rich white people can use the bathroom but if someone looks poor, trans, darker skinned, gay, a part of a subculture they dont like, or any other reason they might be prejudiced against they will say no and a piece of paper on the front window keeps them progressive in the public eye; perfect for liberals!

Theres a local coffee shop a lot of leftists in my town frequent, say good things about, and is referred to as a "leftist coffeeshop". They keep their bathroom doors locked and you need to ask for a key to use them. They get upset if you leave the bathroom and dont fully close the door behind you. They don‘t have needle drops in the bathrooms. This doesn't need any further commentary.

I havent heard that and JDownloader is open source as well. I dont know if it hasnt been fixed, but my computer is working fine with it installed.

You can download the source code through svn.jdownloader.org or view it at github.com/mirror/jdownloader

Any credible solar panel will come with a 25 year warranty with a graph of % efficiency over time.

I think there was another nitpick I found towards the end but it felt more literary so I let it slide. I‘ll find it though and edit this post.

Edit: "CEOs dumping waste in a river in China." Because CEOs arent the ones literally dumping the waste. "CEOs choosing to dump waste" would sound better and I think more powerful imo.

A stovetop work out the same way. Get the water and rice to a boil, turn it off, cover it and let it sit until the rice is done cooking

Virtually no mess cooking rice too unless something goes wrong.

This was my go to while I was living in my van with just a propane stove and a pot.

Microwaving rice has been incredible efficient for me. I only have to dirty the microwavable bowl im eating out of. I can add frozen veggies, tofu, beans (rinse the beans in the can by using your can opener to make a few openings in the bottom of the can before you open the top. The juice will drain out and so will water used to rinse them), other protein sources (they had vegan hotdogs for a dollar a pack recently), or anything else you want to add. Season however you would like: nutritional yeast, soy sauce, peanut butter, vegan mayo, hot sauce, flax seeds, etc.

If cooking rice alone I cover them, cook for 4-5 minutes, and then let them sit until they are done cooking, about another 4-5 minutes. If adding frozen veggies they will probably make the cook time longer so play around with that.

If there is no microwave a stovetop would work the same way.

If theres no stovetop or a microwave, hell, I just eat beans straight out of the can.

Oats and lentils should be able to be microwaved in a very similiar way too.

I just eat rice and beans with some vegan mayonnaise everyday and take a multivitamin when I remember to. Its probably not enough, but the macros are definitely all there.

I tried doing a soylent/huel DIY and it worked out pretty well but I was having to get a new bag of oat flour everyday and mixing everything together was a pain and if I didnt clean out the bottle it was pretty bad. I havent done it in a while. The local food coop sells bulk soy flour which has really good macros so I might try again using that. (Soy protein, oat flour, flaxseed, canola oil was my recipe for anyone curious)

I didnt know she voted to fund ice. Lost some respect for her, for sure. Idk, I still am going to be optimistic, but I dont read about her to take off my rosy red glasses tbh. It was her first day in office and didnt want to start making enemies on day 1. Idk I want to be hopeful, I should look at her voting record more in depth.

She isnt saying overpopulation though. Shes asking if it is ethical to have children knowing that their lives will be much harder due to climate change. There‘s a fine line between the two and its easy to equate them, but they are different. She‘s looking at not wanted children as a result of climate change and not as a solution. I want to believe she's smart enough to know its not overpopulation thats the issue but its consumption.
