1st, welcome to raddle. I see you just arrived.

2nd, this does read quite a bit libertarian, which you might find your views challenged quite a big here. Maybe thats what ya want, given your espousement of idea "tolerance".

3rd, there doesn't appear to be a real anarchist critique in this post. And the idea that quants and start-up ceo's and other bastions of capital are in any way tools for the advancement of less undo hierarchy is wildly uninformed. You didn't articulate this verbatim, but you insinuate that (if your historical analysis is taken at face value) the transition from academia to the upper levels of capitalist institutions is a matter of "creative/idea freedom" without any critique of the more nefarious and motivating reasons for that transition, if it exists at all. It just seems like you've thought a lot about the topic, and created this model, but haven't done much actual power critique.

The short answer is, do whatever you want. The long answer is, if you're feeling pressured by "middle class values", what is it exactly that you're after. If you have a dream or goal that requires money, then do your best to not fuck anyone over and get your money to do your thing.

For example, I want to grow an orchard within a reasonable distance from where I live. The problem is property here goes for like $150k for 5 - 10 acres. I have a fairly well paying job, but it isn't enough to get me where I wanna go on the timeline I want. So I'm selling food and plant seeds on the side. I don't have any employees or partners. Worker-owned businesses that are reasonably Democratic and equitable are not incompatible with anarchistic ideals.

But you really gotta figure out what you want. Otherwise, you'll just be going around in circles. That's completely OK too, if that's what you want. There's no shame in it at all. You gotta do some radically honest appraisals of your own interests though. Ask for help from close ones, if u have em. But you gotta be as honest as possible, otherwise you get false conclusions.

All #facts. I'm in a strange way just become more and more small in my social setting and stuff. I focus on things i can controp, my mini orchard, my relationships with my my partner and close friends. We ain't even at rock bottom rn, so I'm trying to find pleasurable moments even when times is wild.
