My parents were similar, not as bad but still, the upbringing in such an environment caused me to get into some trouble because I thought it was acceptable to be racist. As I got older and started supporting myself in the real world, I learned that it was not at all acceptable. People are all people, regardless of exterior color.

I had to have hard conversations with my parents. It takes time, reason, and civility. My parents are coming around. Some family members are involved with black people, and they had a really hard time at first accepting it, but I would calmly, and politely call them out on it and explain to them why it wasn't acceptable from a moral point of view. We are also religious, so I use our religious beliefs to back up my points. They usually walk away, frustrated but end up coming around to my point in the end. It's been about 2 years. They have come a long way, It really isn't all their fault. They were taught to believe something their entire lives. Changing that takes patience and a calm attitude.

Best of luck!

I am very intrigued by your submission on anabaptist being compatable with anarchy. Something I have looked for. Very interesting perspective. Thanks for the information.

  1. Why is the current state of anarchy made out to be behind all of the violent riots going on in the western portion of the US. I am all about self defense. But that has nothing to do with a lot of those people out there. Is it just an all out attack on the 'state' for the system being what it is? or does it have another purpose?

Does anyone have an infographic to illistrate what the alternative culture would look like?

What does the infographic look like for 'Blackness' or 'Black Culture'?
