Depends on your thread model I would say.

If you care about hardware backdoors you have to be quite important that the Chinese government will reveal this existence to get you. But if you are that important; just don't use a smartpone. Don't use any phone. You don't need fancy backdoors to get a lot of information about people when you are the government.

If you care about regular privacy I think it's fair enough. You will get rid of a lot of bloat and corp spy tools, also I would GUESS the linux distors are too niche to attract a lot of hacks.

Following is just my personal experience and I'm not sure if it works for others.

During a period of psychoanalytical therapy (which did not help too much), I read some critical psychology stuff. This helped me to understand how my "shortcomings" where not just my "fault" but influenced by society. Also my reactions and self view was influenced or even produced by this relation. This gave me the opportunity to just give a shit on many social norms since they are not mine. I still have them in me and when I feel guilt, self doubt, ... I try to sit down and reflect that. Try to figure out how this feeling was produced and if it is really important to myself. Very often I discover it's not the case; either because I "over reacted" and my emotional reaction was not relative to the trigger, or I just discover I don't give a shit about it. In the end the discovering of this gave me the insight I have to be mild to myself; the pure knowledge that the society and it's norms are a part of my problem is very important BUT you always have to keep that in mind and proof yourself in every situation this is again the case. This mildness to myself helped me to get on with me. To see that my actions and behavior are not worse than those from others. I'm still far away from loving myself but I get along with me and did not lose the hate on the stuff putting me in terrible positions and states of mind.

It also helps me to switch contexts. If you know stuff fucks you up it's hard to feel good. If you have the option to break up with this stuff and start over new its often worth the risk.

And as /u/Tequila_Wolf said psychedelics may also work. For me it's a boost for self reflection and I'm benefiting quite some time from it.

Instead we want to propose a set of tools and methods that will not only help us strike back against the psychological assaults of capitalist society, but will also address the underlying social factors that are at the root of mental illnesses.

Not sure if I miss something but where are those?

For me it does not have to be proposals of the same people; I'm fine with any hint for (psychological) affinity groups or self practice.

Personally I read some stuff from "critical psychology" and think it helped me a lot with my personal thinking but somehow I don't get more practical stuff. I germany there is stuff like FORT/MRT but if you don't have an existing group or want to found one its hard to get information on actual methods and stuff like that.

If I really want to do it: Planing and lists of (small) next steps. If not: Just accept you don't want to (or accept you still have to). For actual doing: Either it comes naturally and I'm able to just tackle it. Or I want to do it then I try to tackle some next step in time boxes where I try to focus.

But tbh, I seldomly have problems with this stuff. I have times where I don't do anything and just accept that. But I also have periods I do stuff and I'm happy with it. This organized behavior is mainly also just for phases where I want to do more than I have time. So maybe I'm not the best source if you need motivational stuff.

Bookchinites talk about communization? Okay I think I get what they mean by that but still it's a completely different theory.

To your list, I would add theorie communiste at least in Europe it feels like they have most impact (beside Dauve) on the field. There are also quite some smaller groups going in this direction not identifying themself with communization but also rarely giving new impulses to the theory. For reading I would mention Endnotes and SIC.

Sorry for my off-topic reaction on one text:

Did not read all of that and just started aith Anti-Tiqqun. First I'd like to say I'm also not a big fan of Tiqqun.

But do you think the text is good? It starts of with communziation, and I ask me why since quite some branches of communization theory would rather exclude tiqqun or invisible committee and such. Also the explanation of what this theory is about does, at least in my view, not get the point. For example the point on the proletariat; in communization theory this is actually what they are talking about: dissolving the classical proletariat and turning to surplus proletariat. And in the end dissolving the proletariat during communization in total.

To me it seems they try to take opposition to communization without thinking what they have in common with them (and it seems they have quite some things in common).

Also: Just wanted to say that I really like your videos. They are always wholesome and empowering. You transport a warm feeling without giving people the feeling that "just leeting the world be as it is and be cool with it". I feel good and also every time have a little more energy to go on. It's really great seeing all the awesome people all around the world sharing such points; this makes me think there is still hope for a good ending of humanity. Thanks for being awesome, thanks for being there <3

Why not calling it what it is? Sure over use of terms does not bring benefits but these people will definitely fit in one or another fascism definition. It's not about "evil" or "bad guys". And knowing what it is also shows what danger lies in it and gives you tools to act.

Your strategy seems to be aimed in not letting such movement rise. And thats really important. But after fascism appears and shows publicly there has also to be direct action against it before it's too late. This means you + the people around you won't be enough. Which does not mean you need a mass movement. There are other organizational tactics more fitting for this kind of work. So what I'm trying to say: Maybe my logic is a bit backwards (but I don't think so since the points you mentioned are also fundamental) or I just see different layers of escalation calling for different responses.

I just wanted to point out that organization, not for mass movement but for establishing vivid resilient connections, is needed for being able to defend you and your surrounding if shit hits the fan... I mean not being prepared broke revolutionaries (anarchists and communists) not just once the neck.

Also will look into the books you mentioned... And sorry if I'm hard to read; it's not my mother tongue.

So whats your way of dealing with fascism in the states now?

I really don't think romantic anarchism will lead anywhere when the other side "starts" to organize. Maybe crimethinc just realized that.
