Minimizing internet use doesn't mean to stop using it completely. Use the internet to find people that you can keep meeting in real life.

I think real human interaction is healthy even if people do not share many of your interests. If you have one interest in common, perhaps that's enough to begin a friendship.

Good luck.

Expressing or promoting ideas face-to-face in real life obviously needs to be done with some tact and judgement. However, being scared of 'verbal assault' makes you sound like a coward.

Online places exterior to this fragile safespace do exist where you can interact with people who do not share your opinions. You can remain safe while doing so, unless of course the words typed by anonymous strangers are capable of hurting you.

I think Raddle has the least freedom of speech of any platform I know - I think that reflects the site's overall intellectual fragility and the credibility of the average opinion on here.

Online spaces seem to have devolved into unthinking circlejerks - if you want to have any impact on the world, I suggest you venture out beyond your safespace, present your ideas to people who disagree with you and listen to their opinions in turn. I'm doing that.

I don't see any bragging. I think they're publicizing an unjust arrest just as you are.

Wayne County Animal Control officers had “serious concern regarding the practice of veterinary medicine without a license and the presence of controlled substances,” the agency said in a statement to CBS News.

“If we didn’t feel like anything was being done wrong, we would not have taken [the animals],” Wayne County Animal Services Manager Frank Sauls told the Goldsboro News-Argus. “All that will come out if the case goes to court… But that is for the courts to decide.”

I think you should be pointing the finger at Wayne County Animal Services.

Well, I do very little here. Perhaps you can handle the burden of someone occasionally expressing an non-hivemind opinion.

You're asking this question on a site that bends over backwards to avoid dialog with outsiders and advocates violence against fascists.

As I wrote in that thread.

The Oxford definition of bigot is:

A person who is intolerant towards those holding different opinions.

According to that definition, disagreement has nothing to do with it. Intolerance is the key word. It's not so complex is it?

The racists on Voat don't need my help coddling themselves, just as you seem to be doing quite well enthusiastically hiding from reality around here.

It's sad that you have so much to say about one another, but don't talk at all.

I prefer other websites were people are more free to speak their minds, and in turn learn to deal with the unpleasant thoughts of others.

I'm not referring to Anarchist_critic. The way you personally treated a much worse user, a blatantly racist, but respectful and sincere visitor from Voat a long time ago showed me how little interest you have in talking to those with differing opinions.

The whole site is a manifestation of that insular attitude, and I suppose that's exactly why active users like it so much. I appreciate some of the content that gets posted, but I'll never be a real part of the website, and wouldn't be surprised if you banned me right now.
