The government HAS bombed at least one city, Philly in 1985. And no response from military and near zero from the population. Most never heard of it and probably supported it if they did.

As a leftist, I do agree that an unarmed revolution is a short and futile revolution. The plutocracy will cede nothing willingly.

I was raised in a fundie x-tian family and bought a lot of the BS when I was younger. I am glad I had the chance to talk to people and was able to break out of it. I will now engage anyone, and try to plant logic bombs and seeds of doubt whenever I can. You cannot make a blanket statement that no one can change their minds.

As far as privilege goes... just having access to a computer, the internet, and the literacy and leisure time to use both is a pretty fucking privileged status compared to most of the people of the world, when is OP going to give up THOSE privileges and creature comforts?

Begs the question of how so many species seemed to have been doing just fine before humans showed up. Look at the megafauna extinctions in the Americas and Australia after the arrival of humans for very clear examples of how flawed your premise is.

Now, the idea that humans will be taking many other species down with them when the mechanism resulting in human extinction plays out is probably a valid assumption, but claiming that those other species would survive if humans were still around to "help" them is not.

We need to redefine patriotism to encompass love and defense of the entire planet. Tribalism/Patriotism kills, it contributes to "us versus them" mindset and the ensuing conflicts.

I consider myself to be an earth patriot, 100%.
