i wear a balaclava most times (when i can be bothered), and then i just slide it down if i’m on a main road, or not car hopping inbetween streets. i wear all black, and 100% always wear a hoodie. i carry a small pocket knife with me, just incase, but if you ever have an encounter with the coppers, make sure you throw that shit because having a weapon could add another charge if they catch you. i don’t personally break windows, just because there’s only a few suburbs i can easily get to (don’t have a car atm), and if i were to break a window, that usually means the police would be called at some point (usually the day after), and that would make car hopping in that area again a lot more difficult. also, if you’re car hopping in the same area, i’d suggest waiting atleast a month.

i’ve been car hopping for around a year and a half and i haven’t gotten caught yet. so, tips...

  • always only go car hopping between 1-4am, as this is when people are least likely to be awake.
  • always wear gloves to cover your prints.
  • always check for dash cams on the front of a car, they’re pretty easy to identify.
  • bring a small handheld torch that you can use in the car to see easier.
  • bring a backpack, and put everything in there.
  • search the car as quickly as you can; money is usually found in the centre console if that’s what you’re after. also, always take any spare change because it really adds up if you’re out for a while.
  • i’ve found that car hopping in driveways is usually fine (i’ve had a few people come outside, but you just run away and hide and you’re all good), but just be extra quiet, but make sure you check for house cameras if you do hop them.
  • when closing doors, just really gently close it and then give it a shove and it should click into place.
  • if a car alarm goes off, shut the door and run the fuck out of there as fast as you can and go hide, because people usually do come out and check their cars. once it’s safe to leave, get out of that area as the police may have been called.

if you got any more questions let me know, i’ll try and help

i mean, if it’s got plenty of blind spots and you find an opening where another person won’t see you conceal, then i reckon go for it. although, if you’re stealing from the hotel you’re staying in, i’d wait until the end of ur trip
