Sad but true. Many things infuriate me about work but watching older people, whose body's have been ravaged by time, trying to get through a 40 hour week on concrete floors just so they have medical care makes my blood boil.

It's the only reason the US doesn't have guaranteed healthcare. Compel people to work. Without insurance a modest income won't get you the medical care you need.

On hand is what the system thinks is in the store. If an item goes out of stock for a supplier reason or we no longer carry it it will have an on hand of zero. You use your tag, the system thinks we sell one, then it'll show a negative on hand. We put it back to zero. You do it again and it goes to a negative on hand again Our computers so the ordering and tracks how many are in store. If it goes negative twice you're likely to get caught. So you'll need to at least be certain it isn't a seasonal or clearance item.

I work for Walmart and our AP has busted several people using a similar method because the same item keeps showing up as a negative on hand and the Department Manager reports it to AP. AP then checks the time of the sale and then watches the camera.

I've worked retail for over 15 years. I wage war with myself so that I don't become a misanthrope. But between fellow co-workers who don't care how their behavior makes your life more difficult and the customers who think you're literally there to worship them it's a struggle.

Retail just gives you multiple bullies to deal with instead just the owner or manager. All of who could end your employment.

The worse things get the more likely governments are to brutalize you back into the workplaces. The US labor history is one of violent government repression. Arguably the worst of all the industrialized countries. And one of armed resistance.

I think, in the US at least, the working class will need to organize a massive general strike and be prepared to defend ourselves.

And the government doesn't need an excuse to get violent. If it wants to do it it will and bull shit an excuse later.

I don't think Clinton would've opened child concentration camps (though I could be wrong). I think leftists tend to underappreciate that the micro differences are real people's lives and real suffering (because they understand that for the rest of the world it doesn't matter). Would Clinton have made a difference for anywhere else besides those on American soil? Not a one.
