i think the issue is that our conception of "chaos" and "order" is the binary of "people killing each other and gangs and mad max" or "modern neoliberal society", when we could be doing much better by realizing that order isn't a meaningful goal and chaos doesn't mean complete lack of everything you love, just lack of enforced structure.

i mean if you define democracy as freedom of action like some anarchists do then anarchism is by definition democratic, but like, that's not what democracy is, and democracy as a whole requires the existence of a government.

Anarchism provides more freedom than your standard direct democracy ever could because it removes the tyranny of the majority.

I generally think with terms like that, it's more of a warning to be careful using it. So a term like "lame" might be okay to use in like 99% of online discourse, but you have to be understanding if you hit the 1%, whereas a term like "f*g" will probably be problematic in effectively all contexts.

Or at least that's how I understand it. Imo, it's not that you should never call something "lame" or "dumb" in a disparaging way, but rather that you should understand that that usage has a problematic origin, even if it's almost guaranteed not to offend people, and that you should just be careful.

yup, absolutely, no need to rethink colonialism and call israel out for their war crimes, just pretend none of that ever happened. look! it's a gay sitcom!

liberal identity politics are stupid because they ignore the root of every issue they claim to care about.

no guns

That's a bit of a lib position but fair deal considering the rest of it

no police

fuck yeah

no statues

oh no we don't get to glorify a bunch of dead racists

no genders

who needs 'em? be who you want to be and don't let gender roles stop you

no flags

assuming she's talking about american flags, yuck. she can keep them.

no men

a bit nonsensical but if there's no gender anyways then it doesn't change much

no electricity

here lies the biggest question: would we rather get rid of police and traditional views of gender, or would we rather be able to shitpost and use guns? it's a tough one, but i think i'll go with the first.

Personally, I think it's a good deal and we should take Candace up on her offer.

uhhh not really, it was cool but it wasn't anywhere near the level of the ussr. not that i especially like the ussr, i'm certainly not ML, but that was one of the most prolific socialist experiments ever, and other ML projects have done similar things.

You can't make this up, sometimes the world just gives you the best representation of itself.
