They call the agency to verify them now. People have apparently been trying to impersonate officers on the phone to verify bogus reports so now they call the station and speak with the records clerk to authenticate. So it's getting harder and harder.

$1000 Traeger smoker and 5 bags of wood pellets. It all weighed about 250 lbs. It was $1100 worth total. Simple walkout.

To save money. I can afford everything I lift. I just like having all the nice stuff I have knowing I didn't pay for it. I also gift some of it.

Occasionally I boost to pad out my retirement account more.

Yep. Most people call them turtles, but StrapLok is the official name. Lowe's just loves those things. Be careful with the disarm chirp.

  1. Google stuff and Amazon stuff is not source tagged. Some stores will have an RFID sticker on them sometimes.

  2. Depends on the item, and the store. Usually helps if you have an idea of the LP setup, and it's a busy day. With big stuff it helps to be quick but not look or act suspicious.

They didn't create it. It's polyester... John Whinfield and James Dickson invented it. Under Armor is just a successful marketing campaign lead by getting athletes and celebrities to endorse it. Hell they charge $35 for a hat..

They don't need them because their LP is on point. You'll get just over the threshold and you'll be body slammed by two plainclothes who are just outside waiting for you.

They did it all wrong. The way to do it is no one noticed and you stroll to your vehicle without a care in the world.

From the first time I got caught to the last time I got caught, which are the only two times I have actually been caught it was 15 years apart. It's been a year and a half since I was last caught and haven't had any issues at all so far.

Hardly matters. Not a big deal. Everyone makes too big a deal. I got caught at a major national retailer with $800 in merch, basically a whole cart load. Spent 4 hours in a holding cell, got released. Got court date 6 months later, deferred sentence, 40 hrs community service, theft class, and 6 months probation. That's it.

I've lifted every day since, and never even given a second look. I've gotten at least 10,000 in merch since for personal use, and boosted about $3000. I just switched jobs with no issue, and will be making 15-20K more per year in the new one. Oh and I was in a government job when I got caught, they knew and no problem. So the whole you get caught your life is over is kind of BS. If you have marketable job skills with a strong career skill set and are a good candidate you get hired. So yep, lift on and prosper.

He said avoid interaction and to avoid contact. I'm a middle aged guy and it's typical to see people my age talking to the associates so that's what I do. It's weird if you avoid interaction, but also weird if you go out of your way to talk to people. It just needs to be natural...

Certain States seem to do this more too. Alot of it goes through the Crime Stoppers programs that counties run.

Yep. I've been doing this for years now. Every single shopping trip is marked by some self checkout shenanigans. I've gotten it down to being able to buy a whole cart load of weekly groceries for about $20-30 with no suspicion. I cycle through different stores and hit multiple locations. I've got some techniques that have been providing very well, and no one bats an eye.

I don't agree on the no talking, and such. I've literally done walkouts of hundreds of $$$ in merch while talking to an associate that just got off duty for the day. I have good relationships with alot of the people at stores where I lift. Seems to keep me on the level and above suspicion.
