I’ve lifted from Sephora several times and when LP is onto you, they make it VERY obvious (at least from my experience). You’ll be fine—they don’t worry about an amount that low. Stay away from the perfumes/colognes if you can and dress nicely, do your makeup and swatch things/pretend that you’re looking to purchase something. The SA’s will back off if you ask them a question about something you have no intention of lifting. It throws them off and it shows that you’re there to shop. I also carry around one of their shopper totes and use it to my advantage—crowds and blind spots are your friend☺️ Good luck and if you have questions just ask.

Sephora—this was kind of freaky. A couple of months ago, I was attempting to lift a couple palettes, lippies and one of my white whale items the Beach Walk perfume. Welllllp somehow I caught the eye of this LP/SA who then took it upon herself to follow me like clingwrap from aisle to aisle. Seriously she was CLOSE—and like all LP, making it super obvious what she was doing. Thanks to anti-anxiety meds, I wasn’t freaking out too much but the perfume WAS concealed in my bag and I needed her to back away for 10 seconds so I could get rid of it. Finally after we walked around the store for 25 mins, she left me alone & I ditched the perfume (but kept the rest of the goods) and got the hell out. I read recently that both Sephora & Ulta stalk their perfumes like a hawk, so it makes sense I guess. Needless to say, I haven’t been back there since.

Ahh, this happened to me a couple of years ago. Except I was doing a pushout (I’d done several of them, but this was just my lucky day to get caught). I cried and cried and begged them not to call the police bc I was broke and couldn’t afford food etc for my family. Long story short, and by some odd stroke of luck, they couldn’t get their computer/printer to work! So I got a verbal ban😎 Luckily where I live I have other grocery store options but I have been to other Kroger’s in the area and had no problems at all. I agree w/everyone here—do NOT pay the fine and wait a bit, you’ll be just fine.
