“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” - Joseph Goebbels - Nazi propagandist

A way for the ruling class to manipulate the populace. For example, the rich have dragged the working class into absolute poverty through their hunger for power, they have the means to improve things but that would not make them profit and would risk them losing their authority over the working people who would become autonomus when given the means of production. It would be just a matter of time before the workers realise that the system is broken and take everything into their hands. To avoid this, the rich tell the same lie that democracy is the only way to bring about freedom and that at fault for the people's suffering are the politicians who are currently in office. Afterwards they introudce fascist political canditates who blame the nation's problems on miniorities and communists and promise that they have the solution to make things better within the palm of their hands. The people believe them and elect them for office.('If they have an opportunity to vote then why not'? After their election, they start their crackdown on their political opponents but the common people don't oppose them because the fascists brought ahead the changes that they promised by introducing multiple reforms! The people actually start to believe that the fascists are the right people to lead them and they might even become fanatics recruited to their ranks! Just look back on Germany!

Democracy is an evil tactic the ruling class took to secure their power and influence and divide us!
