Yeah otherwise I doubt it'll let you link your bank account, but when you're making the free trials you can just make up whatever name/address to give to them. That's the real beauty of using privacy. Also it may or may not matter but I use a vpn when creating the trial accounts just so they don't see the same ip address creating them, but unless you're creating a bunch at the same time it probably doesn't matter.

I was hoping this method would work as well, but my friend that works in retail says that the problem is when they scan the receipt they'll see that it was for a card with a different number. And even if that wasn't a problem they'll most likely tell you to just call customer service for the gift card issuer to deal with it.

They have to be activated at the point of sales terminal unfortunately. That's why they're so easy to lift because they know they're useless at that point lol. Buuuuuuut.....there's always this technique... https://www.pymnts.com/news/security-and-risk/2017/gift-card-fraud-bbb-pin/

My only concern with this technique is how difficult it can be for purchasers to get their money back. We all want to screw over the nasty corporations, not other innocent bystanders.

Best method I've found is to use my bank account to make virtual one time use prepaid cards with only one dollar on them using the website privacy.com The transaction ends up getting declined at the end of the month from not enough funds so even the one dollar never leaves my account :) Using privacy along with creating new emails every month just using mail.com has been working like a charm for me for months now for netflix, hulu, hbonow, etc. Hope that helps!

I agree that was a dumb thing to do, but since I shop there all the time using walmart pay or credit cards I figured they could easily figure out my identity anyways. I was being careless since I thought no one would be checking receipts anyway and if it went well then I'd bother going to other areas to do it instead lol. Plus I thought I had plausible deniability on my side anyways. And in this case it kind of helped to use the app since I could pretend like I didn't know how to pull up the receipt, and apparently they didn't know how either lol. But yeah, it was too close of a call for my comfort, and I won't be assuming anything is foolproof from now on.
