I assume they caught you in the act this time? Did you do anything different? If they had been watching you all this time was it simply they didn't get the chance to catch you before or?

Around my area, the Meijers have gas stations as well, and their giftcards/store credit work for their gas stations.

Hey guys, tried to get online to get you all the link, but I used an app for the purchase and there is no url to post. Go to Wish or Ali Express and type in magnet tag detachers or 20000 gs magnets. A lot of people use golf detachers which can be bought on the Wish or Ali Express app. I also know there are neodymium magnets for sale on Amazon and I've read on here they sell those in H@me Dep@t.

That is good advice! Thanks!! Next time I'm away from my hometown I'll give this a shot. I don't want to burn the stores I have to shop at on a regular basis.

I know for places like Ulta, if you have used the product, it is likely to get thrown out as they cannot resell. If it were me, I would make sure that the color matches the original fragrance. you can say you had a bad reaction to it and as long as you didn't pull this at the same store multiple times it's unlikely they would catch on. I haven't personally done it, but I think I remember reading something on this site about a similar situation. With most places with your receipt you would be able to get your money back in the form you paid.

The one I like using, because it's small and easy to conceal, is one I got off of Wish. I also have a N52 neodymium from Amazon, actually had this for a while, intended to give it to a family member as a gift who's into magnets as a hobby, decided to keep it for myself. It's a 1-inch cube, but it has extreme pull, so I don't particularly care to carry this one as much. The smaller one is actually a keychain and fits easily in my pocket, it's only 12000 GS, but I've had no problem with clothing tags. Sometimes you have to tap the magnet gently to the tag and twist, but so far it has worked. Most people use golf detachers, with a GS of 20K. You can get these on wish or AliExpress.

I actually have a bubble wrap bag from Glossier that I have found hold mine perfectly!

The type I'm taking about is used to remove hard EAS security tags from clothing.

I know the VS and AE near me do not have magnet detecting towers, so they are an easy hit on occasion. Just be safe, some AE's do have the magnet detectors according to various articles on here.

I've actually done what was recommended with a medication that I knew was source tagged. I rang it up at self checkout with a couple of other items, then told the cashier I forgot something. Went back through the store, was quite busy that day, concealed the now deactivated tagged item and checked out at the other side of the store. Normally would have left it and came back but the opportunity to conceal and get out was there.

I've been lifting for a couple of years pretty regularly. Just recently started getting into lifting items for resale, and using magnets for tag detaching. Prior to that I mainly lifted for myself. Never been caught, not even sure I've been officially sussed, though I've had my fair share of probably overreacting to someone who wasn't AP/LP. I browsed this forum for several months before I finally joined.

I have a neodymium N52 and a small 12000 Gauss from Wish. The smaller one is a keychain and easy to conceal. It has no problem with your smaller pencil tags. The N52 has no issues with any clothing tags but it's almost too powerful for me to feel comfortable carrying. A golf detacher is what a lot of people use. You can get them on Wish or AliExpress.

Glad that she let it slide. Hopefully that's all that comes of it. I still have yet to do a major walkout.

I have two Walmarts near me and honestly their plainclothes LP is almost comical. I spotted him instantly and he looked like such a creep. His behavior was so off from a regular shopper that I almost wanted to tell him, listen, you're going to creep people out and they're going to think you're stalking them. Alas, I didn't want to give myself away. I just smiled and nodded like he was any other person.

I just got my magnet and I'm loving it! Actually got two magnets, one on a keychain and a pretty strong neodymium cube. That sucker is pretty powerful.

I know that cosmetics are an easy sell for the most part. That's what I plan to do. I have sold a few clothes for the most part, all within the same range of sizes so they look like they're generally coming from a person who is just cleaning out their closet. I've had success with Victoria Secret, American Eagle, and Torrid.

Agreed. I feel like it all depends on where you are too. For example I've seen posts about how great Kohl's LP is and their policies, but honestly the Kohl's in my area are not even remotely hard to lift from. I read through that list when I first joined the forum and laughed at some of it. Seems like it came from someone's lifting tumbler from 7-8 years ago. Definitely not something I trust.
