You're not wrong, but people with anime avatars on Discord are very bad, and yeah a lot of them are younger trans people, they are still bad though.

I got banned from several anarchist discords and called truscum for not agreeing that "transsexual" is a slur and using it as a label for myself, and for saying that afab folks using the term "transwoman" for themselves is appropriation, and these were trans folks with anime avatars. I'm not truscum, I'm just a trans person who lived through the 90's lol.

Talking about anime, liking anime, posting anime shit, is all OK and allowed though.

I just asked you, if the people of NK asked for help, would you support helping them? I am not talking about nation-states here, I am talking about fucking individual radical humans. Look at Rojava, do you call that an imperialist invasion by international volunteers who have gone there to fight alongside YPG and YPJ against ISIS?

See.... this is a problem I have with tanks... like I can't just say "DPRK is terrible" without one of you being like "But america is worse! Imperialism!!!".

Like... I fucking know the US is bad I'm a goddamn anarchist, I'm not taking US's side, and for the record, I DO NOT support DPRK's right to exist, or the US's right to exist, both are evil murderous states in their own way.

If I had to guess I'd say sudo is either young person, newby lefty, or both... and/or neurodiverse in some way. I don't think they're a troll, since troll means someone who revels on pissing off others and doing it for funsies. I think they just like.... have unusual and sometimes wrong ideas and no filter. The bringing up anarcho/tank beef from a month ago is pretty suss but I'm not convinced they're just trying to troll at this point...

I support being pedantic about warrant canaries though.

2 months ago they made a power grab at f/science and got overwhelmingly opposed for various stuff like supporting the dprk, lieing about supporting monsanto, it being pointed out they just did a power grap about f/freeasinfreedom, for being a "dick near his libertarian fellows", and apparently supporting elon musk (not sure about this one)

wait do they like... actually support the dprk? Wew..... I'd be interested in more evidence of this paragraph in general, power grabbiness is really unattractive to me these days and we should employ a system of collectivized side-eyes for those wrapped up in it imo.

To be clear, I'm not arguing against anyone getting banned, just that I don't agree they are necessarily a troll.

I think more autonomy for subforums is better.

I'm not a huge fan of ZB's modding of late but freedom of association means letting subforums ban peeps they don't like... if /f/armedleft generally supports ZB's modding decisions I don't really feel like it's meta's place to intercede except for like... somewhat egregious violations of shared lefty values I guess.

Basically... at the very least, having a vote about this stuff on /f/meta without having even had it in /f/armedleft first is bad praxis imo.

You're describing two things really.

Thing #1:

Person says some shit on forum x which causes their banning from forum y. This is oftentimes an appropriate move and I am opposed to making any formal rules against that.

Thing #2:

Person gets banned from not just one forum, but all the forums some mod is a mod on... This is maybe a bit more sketchy... but again... sometimes it's appropriate. I think rather than making a formal rule against that style of modding, we should be more mindful when we are voting in mods how many large forums they are already a mod for and feel comfortable opposing a modship on those grounds. As it really can be a concentration of power situation and un-anarchistic, even if all the folks involved are totally well-meaning.

Case in point, me. I am mod of 3 pretty big subs and 5 little ones(most of which I made), it's up to the community to decide if letting me mod more would be a mistake (although I really don't want any more because I'm doing pretty much jack-shit as it is tbqh)

In ZB's case they only mod 2 subs so certainly can't have performed thing #2

I Oppose the proposal because it would disallow me from banning an obvious fascist or spammer from all the subs I mod... which is a pretty terrible unintentional consequence.

To be clear though, there's way more kinds of leftist than anarchist and ML(M)/Stalinist, so it's probably not so much that the mods of /f/armedleft want to make an anarchist-only club so much that they have intractable ethical issues regarding ML(M)/Stalinism.
