I remember the Home Goods thing, I think that person was taking something particularly egregious, i think it was Kitchen Aid mixers.

Thanks for the reply. I was just wondering because the other poster said “every single person they knew that was caught for ORC or felony level” had been doing walkouts so I was just curious if it was any of my usual haunts since that is my go to method.

Not the OP but the imitation brands do smell different generally due to quality of ingredients and may not last as long. I am guessing that if the OP is trying for this specific brand of fragrance, they have a more educated nose and would be able to detect a difference.

Yes, I have done this. Can you buy a bigger bottle of Creed, one where you wouldn’t have to try and remove the sprayer? The big bottles have screw tops and it would be a lot easier to decant even a couple ounces and replace the level of the liquid with perfumers alcohol. If I was going to do this with Creed, I would do it either at a store that has great customer service like N0rd$troms or a grey market e-tailer like fragrancenet.. would never try it someplace like Aede$ or Lucky$cnt.

As an aside, the only fragrances I have ever bought online that turned out to be fakes were all Creeds. Three times!

Good luck with your plan.

They have this at a local home store. I just wait around the in door until someone comes in and walk out that way but obviously that would not work for a walk out with cart.

I went to the same store the other day and wondered the same thing. It was dead. The perfume counters (some of them) are literally 20 feet from the exit. The testers are not tagged. I love perfume too and it’s probably the number one thing I would take regularly if it wasn’t so difficult.

I have been lifting almost every day for years and have been caught 2x- once was at $eph0ra and I believe it was because I was looking at perfume and trying to figure out how it was tagged.

I go to [email protected]$halls and stores like that and steal any perfume that isn’t tagged or in a security box and then sell it to buy what I really want.

I have also considered bringing an empty atomizer and decanting from a tester into it but haven’t tried it yet.

The last time I went to Ulta or Sephora, the roller balls were not tagged. You can sometimes get lucky going to Marshall’s or TJ Maxx and finding an untagged perfume. Smaller boutiques in higher end shopping places have untagged perfumes often.
