This 100%. Lifting isn’t about anything more than natural confidence. Hit a super easy store and lift something small. It’s just making it muscle memory.

We have definitely stepped our game up. Towers, tagging higher end items, the overall is that we have deployed deterring measures but still quick swift walk out or unboxing in store will get you covered ya know? Cameras have stepped up big time. Stores now have PTZ in a lot of them, but again requires someone actively watching to bust you there. Still big focus on ORC over the once in a whiles.

I would very well assume that the phones would be tracked by imei info in a system inventory. So prepare to have them blacklisted possibly or tracked, thus leading them back to you. But outside of that, BB is a big venture to jump into. Book bag in a BB is instantly gonna get you attention. They are good, too tier. It’s doable but I’d start very very small with them and see how that specific store performs

Not to zombie a post but none of that happened to me or mine lol. I run my situation in an absolutely secure manner. I do appreciate the love and concern of the the board though. I've just been low key and in and out of the country lately.

Yes the security guard whom couldn't properly detain you to start with will go and take the hat, he will pull fibers, lab will send results, they will then find every of that exact hat sold in the country, narrow it to your area, and they should be knocking on your front door.... Now.

No DNA and all of that doesn't work in that manner. Just the fact that they don't have your base DNA to determine a match instantly says No way Jose'.

I get why people freak about it, but it's not an episode of law and order.

As a prior Store Manager, definitely don't shit where you eat.

Just because you work there doesn't mean you know every in and out, I've caught many of my own people, and I've had our HQ bust some that I never would have suspected. It's easier just to lift from someplace similar. I.E. if you work at CV$ then hit W@lgreens

Shrink is the negative impact things have against a stores running costs. So theft, whether customer or employee, damaged items, wasted payroll all factor into shrink as a whole. Basically if it costs you unnecessary money it's shrink

Some major areas, like in NYC and Cali have different specs based upon shrink and threat rate. But for the most part 98% of our stores don't have a dedicated LP system. What you experienced is a typical Michaels store. End of the night is a low staff point, 1 to 2 cashiers, a manager and maybe a framer depending on volume.

NYC, specifically the manhattan store, has weird rules around what we do. I'm waiting to get the list of test stores, Our cameras are smaller black globe style that extend down from a pole. The large large domes aren't real they are just shells.
