Enlightment is state of mind which can be experienced. It doesn't make you better person and it's not good or evil. It' s experince of singularity. You can be enlightened anarchit, with no problem. Its not same scale.

I talk about this a looooot. It's Soo useful. I have not been doing as good lately. I thought about smoking weed again to make it easier. Tho I think it might just be better to do it without buying weed. Tho having thoughts is something that is best in limited amounts.

Idk all the memes u posted in this dump are all really good and very fascinating topics imo.

Reply to ZEN IS BORING by foggymorn

Idk, it just seems like u are limiting yourself. The person who wrote 5 rings was heavily influenced by zen and their life sure as hell wasn't boring. They would literally dual people like every 2 months.

Tbh I don't know much about zen so I can't say a ton. But a lot of Buddhism seems to be about rules do I heard people who study zen often like the taoist parts but feel stifled about the Buddhist parts. Maybe u are letting the rules n Buddhist stuff from zen bother u.

Tho I think if ur feeling bored u might be missing the point. Bc I get the vibe that zen is about thinking in a way outside of boredom. Idk, I do many exciting things but outside of the more stereotypical excitement I find great enjoyment in meditation and just sitting outside watching the world. Even basic stuff is so complex that just noticing life and watching is fascinating.

If zen isn't doing anything its totally cool to just drop it. Tho idk, your feelings seem to be very different from my experiences with stuff similar to zen

I actually wouldn't really wanna rewrite it tbh. What I like about taoism is its spirituality that is words that illicits a type of thought and lets u decide what it means and how to reach it on your own. While I dislike most spirtuality bc it comes off like gospel where u just read something and it tells u what to do and think. Which is exactly what a list of rules would do. So I guess I'm against the premise itself.

Tho I do find it interesting around talk of honor bc I recently listened to some philosopher interpret zanguzi and talk about the dao in the honor of the mafia. So I have been briefly thinking about how honor relates to anarchism and daoism a bit. Like idk, I've been hanging around some like conservative christian types who have like a strong sense of honor and on some level I jive with it which would seem odd. But like most anarchists seem to often have some sense of pride in holding to their principles no matter what. So I do think the text is useful in that it primed me thinnking about stuff.

Also I'm not bothering to link the video bc it was both boring, confusing and I didn't like it.

And I take liberties on interpreting some stuff, like "never start from the way", way is replaced by anarchy in a way that every time u make concession to unAnarchic stuff you stray from anarchy, every spook u accept without Thinking about etc

This actually a very problematic text that I changed one of this empty words with anarchy... But it's not enough.

Can you rewrite then and help this mess make sense?

Ps:this is what Myiamoto Musashi wrote about the samurai way, that's why have this honor and duty talk

Idk, I feel like this kinda misses the point. Well, it's zen so it's less taoist but a statement like

Never stray from the way

Seems silky bc telling yourself something and forcing yourself to do something a specific way seems controdictory to the way. Isn't being rigid and making a rule to follow the way just as far from weu wei as trying to do all desires at once.

Tbh I find discussing taoism a but off and hard to do as it's mostly something u feel and not think about other than weird parables that are vauge and confusing and Ellicott said mindset.

Also what are your thoughts on honor. My understanding is it's just kinda things u uphold yourself to and hold pride in following which is undesirable from the pride perspective. Is there honor without pride? I actually don't know

I've had this experience before.

I really hate becoming conscious of breathing, because I don't know how to make it unconcious again, and then there's the worry I can never do it unconsciously again, and I will suffocate if I don't keep going.

I guess I actually just practice mindfulness now when it happens, if I'm going to focus on breathing, I might as well do it properly.

I'll use it for sure. Im trying to figure out what to do with my annotations and comments on things I read as well. Not sure how to post them without posting the content they're associated with in an understandable way.
