Submitted by cenopusi in tor

I used to view some media in Tor, but it is very hard now for some reason. There's a lot of media linked from Raddle, including vids, pics, and more. I go to the NoScript panel and pick Custom, and tick the prompted items for each entity. I used to have some success without picking every single entity and prompted item. Now, nothing seems to work. I do tend to err on caution, but I'm only trying to view inline pics in articles linked from Raddle at the moment. Any tips?

do not modify any settings besides the security slider in TBB.

If you need to view some content in a lower security setting, take the url and put it in a text editor for a second, log out, refresh your identity, lower the setting, and put it back in the browser. then, when you are done, raise the setting back to safest, and refresh your identity, log in.

anything besides this, will make you stick out for a billion reasons, and will seriously weaken your anonymity.

This seems to do the trick, thank you. I've not tested extensively, but I think it will help me to surf a few links if needed but maintain as much safety as possible.

glad it helped, also remember to go into about:config and change javascript.enabled to "false".

Wow, I forgot that too. Why doesn't the Tor Browser set that by default?

it is usually managed by noscript but there have been bugs/exploits in noscript which have allowed you to get around that as an attacker. So if you are not needing js, i would say to use about:config to turn it off unless needed
