Ideas/thoughts can't be regulated. This is why people believe in the "free marketplace of ideas".

"Free marketplace" = No one initiate violence against people.

You can't initiate violence against thoughts, you can't change them, you can't see them.

this is your brain on cartesian dualism

we just need to remove everyone's pineal glands so their soul can't inerface with their body! then the marketplace of ideas will be truly free

You said that minds won't be free until we use them "at their full potential"

I never once said that. I was making a joke about the dualistic philosophy of Renee Descartes, who believed that the soul and body are seperate entites and that the pineal gland is an antenna by which the soul controls the body. This joke felt appropriate because I wished to mock the belief that ideas can ever be meaningfully seperated from the material world and that these two categories exist in seperate realms.

Irrelevant. Whether they dictate them or not, doesn't change the fact that you can't regulate/see my thoughts
