In france we're still in "high antiterrorist alert" from 2016 afaik.

Edit my bad it had officially ended, the special laws have just seeped into ordinary laws.

In Denmark, a lot of strange laws are currently being implemented. The parliament gave itself the right to pass laws, even those clashing with our constitution, with immediate effect. It gave itself this power overnight.

So far, they've given themselves, among other things, the rights to:

  • Detain anyone, for as long as they wish
  • Expropriate any citizens belongings
  • Enter any home, based on 'suspicion of illness'
  • Arrest anyone gathering in groups of 10 or more

They're currently working with Facebook, Google and the police to monitor the movements of all citizens. Whether this data will be anonymized is unclear.

About a week ago, I was taking a walk with two friends in a nearby park. When it got dark, we decided to head home, but not before we were stopped by 4 cops, 2 of them driving slowly behind the others, with a spotlight mounted on the roof, scanning the park for people. We told them that we were just taking a walk, and was heading home, and they let us be - but followed behind us no more than five metres for about 10 minutes, until we turned down a smaller path where their car couldn't follow.

For the next 6 months, Denmark is effectively, on paper, a well-excused police state.

They're also phasing out cash, moving rapidly towards a cashless country.

That sounds terrifying.

Do you have any articles or links about it to read further?

The most terrifying thing is, that the people of Denmark are begging for more. Most people want this, because they're scared out of their minds. Even young people fear corona as if it was the black death, despite the facts being that young people are hardly affected.

I'm not saying not to respect this virus, and I definitely think we should do our best to keep the old and weak safe; e.g. staying inside, proper handwashing and all, but the fear that I'm seeing everywhere, even in my close friends, is completely disconnected with reality. They literally fear death, even though they know, logically, that it's absurd.

I can dig up a lot of articles, but they're all in danish - do you want them anyways?
