Most often when you take things to a one on one setting, there won't be enough to engage on and it won't lead to a friendship. But with a few people, you'll be able to engage on a deeper level as you find you share more in common that just the interest the forum is based around. You could end up staying friends for years and even travel long distances to meet up.
