I was once hanging around in a place that gave out free contraceptives and needles, and asked this question (my friend would go there to get needles for piercings).

They said there is surprisingly large demand for it.

But thinking back, I imagine the people that were taking it were likely in coercive situations, so they probably cared more about protection than enjoyment.
