Decent article, but Church of Satan isn't really the Raddle type. He even mentions "social darwinism" in the article.

Not at all, but there's some important agreements here and there between "The Raddle type" and satanists. I personally find it pretty interesting, in the same way that Norse mythology is interesting.

Yeah, I cherrypick the parts of LaVey I want to like, and it's an important organization from a historical standpoint.

Yeah, and keep in mind LeVay was heavily inspired by Ayn Rand. That should say it all.

I haven't read any of Ayn Rand's works, only heard about her some. Would you mind sketching up what she's all about? I didn't learn much from the few texts i could find about her.

She paved the way for 'anarcho'-capitalist modes of thought. She, like Stirner both, wrote about putting emphasis on the individual's reasons for interacting with society -- only Rand didn't actually care about people and only wanted all that she could take without concern for the 'weak'.

Her 'philosophy' is a dumpster fire of libertarian-right inspiration.

RationalWiki, actually has a pretty good breakdown of some of her ideas.
