[Week 4 Selection] Desert by Anonymous

Submitted by RosaReborn in readingclub (edited )

Published anonymously online in 2011, this text critiques the current the state of the world from a primarily ecological and nihilist perspective. The text is of a similar length to last week's so again, So this time we will be splitting the text into two weeks! This weekend's discussion will only cover up until section 5!

I've been looking forward to reading this one as it is current and looks like it tackles a variety of issues from militarization, ecology, surveillance, and more

Two weeks sounds good! Especially since I don't think people could keep up with the amount of reading for the last piece. We might be going too fast for people in general.

Yeah, I was honestly expecting things to go a little slower, especially with how slow Raddle is itself.

Yeah I think that is a good idea. It'll allow for more depth to the conversation as well. I think this week should cover up to section 5 and then next week the second half

I will be back in for this one, I didn't have time for week 3.

Given the politics of the people I usually see recommending it, I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

I'm looking forward to it because my politics have changed a lot since the time I read and enjoyed it years ago.

I'm actually jumping in this time. I have more free time for the time being and I've already read this 3 times. Gonna skim over it and find parts of interest. :)

I've only seen it referenced about here, looking forward to it, ecology being a major thing I'm interested in
