Anyone who's seen the Matrix remembers the infamous, Red pill or Blue pill scene which signifies the choice to see with emotion or to see with logic, right brained or left brained.

American Propagandist, Edward Bernays, who worked for Big Tobacco, American Government, and his ideas adopted by Adolf Hitler, stated:

"The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of." - E. Bernays

The main idea of Bernay, is to convey an emotional response through a picture or idea, so that masses would associate that picture or idea with that emotion. It's very simple idea, yet highly effective, and used today in nearly all advertisement commercials including pharmaceutical drugs, military recruitment, and alcohol.

In a system that is controlled by emotion, your emotions directly correlate to the the masses, friend or enemy. Never mind if that guy just got cheated on, or if that girl just lost a relative, negative emotions mean to these people: there is danger.
So when we see all these measures pushed for safety, internet safety, national security, etc, under the control of emotion, people are becoming systematically targeted by the masses by their emotions.

To bypass this system, all you have to do to is: invoke good emotions. You will pass by police, doctors, etc. Just be fake happy, and tell them everything they want to hear. Even if it's 100% lies, it's so they will not have a fear response, and so they will not have reason to harm you.

But if you try to shower them with true facts, show them 100% proof cigarettes cause cancer, they will not believe it. Real emotions and real facts will initiate a fight, and so it will only matter who has more power.

So just pretend everything is fine, until you are in a position that has equal or more power, then fight.

I am not sold on this approach

how is invoking good emotions going to prevent already paranoid institutions from having a fear response, already violent authoritarian institutions from having a reason to harm you
