I'm from the Canadian prariers so it gets really cold. This is what you need to do:
- LAYERS are your best friend!!
- heat packs you can put in your shoes/gloves
- invest in a pair of good winter boots. if the inside of your shoe get wet with snow you're going to be miserable
- hot water/tea/broth.
- bring an extra pair of socks
- see if you can bring a small space heater into your office for your desk

I'm from Canada too and holy heck getting up in the mornings feels like actual torture; I live in the mountains and it's already started snowing ;n;

Oh man how do you survive up there?! Do you have snow yet?

Just get used to it I gues haha. It's winter for ~6-8 months of the year. Yes! It first snowed in September, it melted and then it snowed again a few weeks ago. This time it will stick for a good couple of months though!
