Not certain I understand your question but I think it can automatically do what you're asking.
I had a charge 2 for ages and now have a charge 3. The Fitbit app shows calories burned, and allows you to select how much weight you'd like to lose (from .5 lbs per week up to 2 lbs for week) then links with MFP and let's you know when you're above or below that goal for the day deficit wise.
For example I want to lose 2 pounds a week, so it wants me to have a 1000 calorie a day deficit and tells me in the app when I've eaten enough or too much.
My Charge 2 broke and my insurance offered me a discount on the Charge 3, otherwise I probably wouldn't have upgraded BUT it is an improvement. The waterproof thing is rad because I hated taking off my Fitbit to wash dishes, go swimming, run in the rain, etc. The heartrate monitor is waaaaay more accurate (and doesn't randomly miss hours for no reason), and the pedometer doesn't count driving my car as steps anymore so I think it's also been improved. My biggest downside is that I can't buy a cheap replacement band yet cause it's too new 😂
