I love you so damn much Vita! You're my most played handheld system of all time you're my favorite SNES, NES, Mega Drive, GameBoy, TurboGrafx, Vita, PSP, PS1, everything. Thank you

Do you guys think the Vita is as amazing a handheld as I find it? I love all my other handhelds, the 3DS, DS, GB/C/A, PSP but man, the Vita is just too damn perfect, especially the OLED one like mine.

Vita is the best!

Probably the most time I've spent playing console was vita. I played it so much. It was so comfortable to hold, I wish more people supported it, but unfortunately mobile phones took over.

I found my games in a box the other day and have been meaning to play it again.

I'm so sad it's no longer supported.

Nah has to be GBA for me. Sony never really understood handheld gameplay and mostly just downsized their console games. Third parties followed their example. GBA supported a 15 year library of pick-up-and-play games and it wasn't bogged down with the DS's useless touch screen that made most games way more complicated, slow and unintuitive than they needed to be.

why u gotta be right all the time, huh? You ever think, maybe, you should tone down the heavenly takes? It's not a good look, stating the obvious truth all the time. Stirner was a Sega fan, a fucking winner, but even he knew humility. Max Stirner never shit on an OLED. Especially not on an anniversary uwu. Everybody knows GBA is the fuckin' GOAT, but ... you don't have to say it out loud. Poor Sony. Let the VITA have some fun, by being a 10 year old bloated husk that emulates superior 32-bit 20 year old video games.

I hear the vita oleds are borked after a couple years of use, faded, black crush, random vertical lines and covered with burn in. oled wasn't ready for prime time at that point.

Feels like anything after GBA wasn't made to last. My launch DS had dead pixels, at launch. The Lite's shoulders are a joke, the hinge even worse. PSP is drowned in dust and jesus fuck I need to get rid of that bloated battery before it kills me. VITA ... lol. Sony didn't learn a thing from the PSP. There's a reason they stopped doing handhelds, and it wasn't phones. I have a hard time playing console games, especially RPGs, from the 2000s era. They don't respect your time like portable games do.

My 90's GBC still works perfect. No sticky buttons. No weird screen distortions. The games just work. Tetris is GOD. ... but, I rarely touch it. GBA games struck the perfect balance. I still go back to Sonic Advance.

Shout out to Lumines. Took an entire art class to beat. Even the teacher got involved. PSP had some gems, for sure, but it missed the mark as a portable.

my gb-dmg, gbc and gba are all perfect too. can't say that about game boy pockets though. seemingly all of them have burned screens including mine. it also had power problems when it was still new (the power would cut off after just an hour of use and need fresh batteries) and all 3 of my game gears need to be recapped if it's not already too late. when u power them on, they just make a high pitched sound and there's no video.

the biggest problem with the newer handhelds is the rechargeable batteries become useless when u don't use them for a while and u need to replace them. i have a New 2ds xl that was barely ever played - the battery lasts about 5 minutes after hours of charging and i can't replace it because i can't find the right screwdriver and now i stripped the screws trying to use the wrong one (a normal 3ds one). my game boy micro also needs a new battery whenever i neglect to play it for a while but at least that screwdriver was relatively easy to find. the batteries on the other hand, the only seller I found last time is in australia. and it won't power on even when plugged into an outlet unless there's a working battery. the whole built in battery thing has been a disaster for longevity
