A lot of people have voiced concerns that there could be a copyright claim made against us by a certain other website. While both us admins shouldn't be affected by US companies copyrights since we're not subject to their laws, it's possible they could pressure our registrar, which is an American company.
Anyway, even ignoring that potential issue - at this point a lot of people I've spoken to would really like to avoid the comparisons to reddit everyone keeps making. When this site started it was just a hastily flung together Wordpress blog with a dozen plugins, so calling ourselves the 'reddit for radical leftists' made sense and was good for arousing interest. Now it's so much more than a shitty Wordpress theme, and emma has managed to surpass reddit's code in a lot of ways. It doesn't do us any good being known as a reddit knock off.
I just got the radd.it domain from the previous owner, so moving the site to that address is a strong possibility. It wouldn't be a big departure name-wise, but the url doesn't have to be the name of the site - we can always change all the 'Raddit' text on the site to something else entirely, like maybe an acronym?
'RawAtomicDopeDrop' or something? Any better ideas?
Or we could just use the 'Radd' or 'Raddit' part of the title and add some characters to the end e.g. Radditalized, Raddppl, Radd-itch, Raddital, Radded, Raddica, Raddicals, Raddkats, Raddredd, Raddicular, Raddl, Raddle, Raddleft, Raddreds, Raddites...
We could also use the frog logo to inspire a name. RaddiToad?
Or we could not use radd.it and go with a different url entirely. Or just stick with raddit.me.
Thoughts?
EDIT: I should stipulate that the raddit.me url would still work - it would redirect you to the new url.

How about Raddish? It sounds similar to raddit, but without the association to reddit.
With Raddish, you wouldn't need to change the color scheme of the site (they are red), and a raddish logo / icon is simple and recognizable.
I say Raddish :)
Edit: Whoa, raddish.net domain is actually available!
Edit 2: If someone snags raddish.net before you get it, you could register raddi.sh.
