Hey y'all, this thread from awhile back discussing whether raddle should allow porn gave me an idea. While I fully agree with the ultimate decision to disallow it, this comment from u/tickl got me thinking:

I generally agree.

To play the devel's advocate: There's really no place on the internet which contains an organized collection of non-sexist/feminist pornography. It's really hard to find.

Although to be honest, I don't think that is within the scope of this site, but it's still worth keeping in mind.

I realized that, since postmill is free software, it shouldn't be especially difficult to make a seperate sibling forum to raddle specifically for radical/feminist/queer/etc. porn & erotica. It's not an idea I'm super invested in or anything, and I highly doubt I would host such a site myself anytime in the near future for a number of reasons (I don't have a server/vps, I don't know shit about web hosting, I don't want to invest the necessary time and labor to run and moderate the site, pretty iffy about having a porn site, especially one occupied by anarchists and radicals, registered under my name). However, I figure I might as well go ahead and throw the idea out there in case it interests anyone, especially someone who actually has the resources, expertise, and motivation to set it up.

I think it would be good but would only make sense to me if run by radical sex workers themselves.

Totally. That's another reason I wouldn't wanna host it. Any computer-savvy rad sex workers are free to take this idea

I'd be supportive of the idea, and to be honest I'd rather host my content there then something like tumblr. It'd help if there was a way to support contributors through the site, though.

That's a good point. I'm a two-steps-below-mediocre programmer myself, but someone more competent might be able to add some code to make that possible (or maybe just design a new system better suited to that purpose, if we wanna get really ambitious). Potentially we could also just use something like liberapay or GNU Taler once that gets off the ground.

We'd need a way to protect the sex workers on the site as well. I'm not really a fan of paygates or sadpanda-esque systems, but i'd rather not see anyone get doxxed for trying to support herself.

Yeah, that's true. I guess I didn't really consider a lot of these things on account not having any personal experience with sex work. Thanks for all the valuable ideas!

This is a more recent thread about the same thing, which I think overturned the previous rule:

Didn't realize the rule had changed, thanks for letting me know. I think there might still be some value in creating a space specifically for radical porn, though, particularly one run by sex workers. Of course, this isn't something that affects me personally very much (except insofar as the general misogyny, cis-man-centrism, and general grossness of most porn makes me not really wanna watch/look at it and having a source of porn that's not so appalling would be kinda nice). I'm much more interested in what sex workers think about it, since it's most relevant to them and their lives
