After witnessing some of the shit going down with that guy "gonnagetbanned" or something and his religion post, and seeing many people agreeing with him and many disagreeing, I think some alterations to the ToS are in order.
Add Christianophobia to the list of banned content OR remove mention of antisemisitism and islamophobia (= same thing):
"Promotes white supremacy, homophobia or heterosexism, transphobia or cisgenderism, misogyny or patriarchy, classism, ableism, body shaming, antisemitism, Islamophobia, colonialism or age discrimination."
Adding a line to the Content Policy part: At the end:
Critiquing religion is welcome, so long as the critique focusses on the institution itself rather than its members, and no generalizations are made on the beliefs or practices that any religion professes. Therefore, any comparision between religions, so long as it remains purely factual, is allowed, as long as it doesn't break any of the rules stated above.
In the Enforcement section:
"Moderators are able to delete content and give warnings or subforum bans to Users that violate the site-wide Terms of Service, or a subforum's individual rules.
Administrators are able to delete content, give subforum bans, site-wide bans, IP bans and account deletions to Users that violate the site-wide Terms of Service or a subforum's individual rules."
Add: However, each of these actions needs to be properly justified to the community (via the "bans" section in the toolbox or otherwise), and, if the Raddle community feels these actions unnecessary (via a majority vote on f/meta), they are to be undone.
I'm not asking for all of these to be put in place, obviously, however I'd love if the community could take a look at them, and perhaps include one or two into the ToS if Raddle (as a community) thinks it proper.
Also, I'd love to hear your feedback, so if you disagree, I'd appreciate it a lot if you could explain why.
EDIT: If you guys could explain which points you like and which points you don't instead of focussing only on the first one, that'd be great. Thanks!
