No, you're not a demsoc. You're a social democrat, and that would make your placement as mod of /f/demsoc inappropriate
Source: This guy's comment history. He thinks democratic socialism and social democracy are the same.

EDIT: Full retraction. This comrade's a democratic socialist, not a social democrat. Sorry about that.

Actually, I have been thinking a lot about what it means to be socdem. After a long hard sitdown, I realized I agree more with demsoc ideals than socdem.

Can you explain the differences between the 2 ideologies?

Socdems believe in a capitalistic welfare state. Government intervention is supposed to help achieve and maintain social justice among society.

Demsocs believe in a socialist state backed by a democratic government. They believe that capitalism is incompatable with true freedom and therefore seek to abolish it through democratic means. They believe the working class should control the means of production.

Okay, thanks for clarifying. I support you modding f/demsoc.

I thought it was strange that you were blaming 'terrorism' for the rise of the altright, but I guess that has nothing to do with being a demsoc.

Agree. Maybe they should make a socdem sub.
