As former user ShiningWing requested, I removed all of her themes EDIT: and nofunallowed's themes also

Submitted by ziq admin in meta (edited )

I replaced them with pastel colored variations of my Fresh theme (which was partly based on a theme emma made). I figured that was the best way to go about it, so as to not affect normal usage of the site.

So now all the forums that were set to use SW's 9 themes are using the pastel themes instead. Change your forum's themes if that's a problem. Derivatives of the removed themes designed by other users are not affected.

I'll be doing the same thing with nofunallowed's themes tomorrow. A new theme for the f/vegan and f/vegkitchen forums has already been set to replace nofun's greenmod theme.

Thanks to the 2 users that helped with this.

From now on, all themes contributed by users to the community will be considered public domain. A notice was added to the wiki.

If anyone wants to have a go at making a new material theme for raddle, here are the guidelines:

thanks

pastel's a bit garish for me (I'm guessing for many of us?), I'll pick another

Edit: going with the ★ theme for now

They're much easier on the eyes with night mode enabled.

So they gave the themes, and now insist that they be taken back? I don't have enough time to catch all the drama as it happens, but that seems like a pretty shitty thing to do to a site. I'm guessing that they had a falling out or something. Forcing the removal of their contributed themes seems like a real tantrum to me...

edit: Ok, I found the discussion about it.

I've now also overwritten all of nofunallowed's themes too.

Just to verify something: did you ask the makers of all currently available themes about the public domain thing as well?

Ask them if they're okay with their themes being public domain? No, only themes made after the wiki notice was added will be considered public domain.
