On the forums page, we could have 20 categories. When you made a new sub, you'd have to choose one of these categories to place it under. Then when people are looking for new subs, they'd go to the forums page, click the category, and see all the subs listed under it, organized by activity. Would be a lot easier to navigate than reddit.
Should a sub category be allowed to be attached to multiple top levels? Or specific posts allowed to hit multiple sub/tops?
I'd say 3 categories / xposts at most.
If categories had the domain.com/x/Name and subs had a alternative url system like I mentioned, maybe that would work best? Having admins control which subs are part of categories, or the default categories at least?
I can see that working. So going to f/anarchism would list all the anarchist subs - f/anarchism-general, f/anarcha-feminism, f/veganarchism, f/antifa, f/mutualism, then some of these subs would also appear in other categories - like f/feminism would include f/anarcha-feminism under it?
