Hey all, a few things in case anybody's interested!

There are some new forums: f/USA, f/Blackness, f/Body_Art_and_Modification, f/Writing, the first of which is the only one with a mod for now. You're invited to subscribe :)
w/asexual is also new.

Might be nice to have an f/I_Just_Watched since often I'll watch a really good movie and want to engage people about it. I think it might also encourage people to post if there's an official conduit to talk about it.

If there are enough items to list, it might be worthwhile to put together an etiquette wiki. The only thing I actually think of at the moment is that many think it's important to tag pdfs with [PDF] in posts. Oh, also, adding "/s" to sarcastic posts, I saw something about that recently and it'd be cool if someone who knew about it explained it. Are there other things?

I recognise that it's probably not realistic so I just wanted to mention it; in the best world raddle could provide, I think we would have descriptions for/of image-only posts in the text.

One of the things I've done lately for a lot of the forums I've moderated is, in the "related" section on the sidebar, I've actually made the word "related" clickable, and it goes to a multi-forum view of all the related forums. It's something small but I think it's a nice use of the multi-forum view option, especially for forums like f/climate_changed, f/Gentrification, and f/mutual_aid where the forums are relatively low-traffic on their own.

:)

EDIT: some wording and the "/s" sentences.

I don't know if this is the right place to post but I just created f/gamedev and at the moment I'm creating a theme for it.

Is it okay if I mod it myself -- I'll try to be as active as possible -- or is it better if someone else is also a mod?

In short, it's ok if you mod it yourself, but anything can change on raddle if the community makes a motion for it.

Usually what happens is whoever creates the forum, that person is the sole mod until somebody applies to be a mod, after which there's a democratic process to see what people would like for the forum.

Personally I prefer if there were a handful of mods for each forum but since we don't have the numbers I suspect your forum won't have anybody applying for modship anytime soon, so you'll be doing it alone for a long while.

That's ok for me, I'm happy to mod it myself if no one is applying!

One odd thing I noticed - f/meta isn't in featured forums - could this be changed?

Also, I'd be willing to moderate f/writing.

That was deliberate because emma didn't want the front page littered with bug reports in the early days.

Understandable, but we've moved past that for the most part.

Since bug reports go in f/postmill now, I guess there's no reason to not included meta in the featured forums. I'll add it.

Amerikan egoist anarchists feel entitled to use a suitcase nuke. That's all the etiquette they understand.
