I'm trying to find a zen article I upvoted a few weeks ago and realized there isn't a search feature here. Or is there one and I'm just blind?

Maybe a patron could hire a php programmer to write the code? There's a lot of great stuff on this site, it's a shame it all disappears into the abyss after it drops off the front page.

Yeah that would work. Or just donate to emma so she has more free time to do it herself. Here's her bitcoin:

Not yet, it'd require an increase in running costs because of the added processing power involved, afaik.
for now I use
site:raddle.me zen article
on ddg if I'm looking for something
Not sure what the future of search is for the site, maybe emma and ziq have discussed it further since last they said anything.

emma talked about it recently:

As I understand it, the easy way to add search would significantly drive up the server costs... While the hard way would take a lot of work but no one is volunteering their time to do it.

I think raddle shouldn't have a search engine-- there's no need to further complicate things (putting too much on /u/emma's shoulders or breaking the bank).
Let's stick with the human element, /f/findaraddle!

I tend to agree. outside search engines can kind of serve that role.
It's also the kind of spirit to be time-sensitive, "fresh"

Has anyone looked at Yacy? Is the performance cost too big?

In the meantime, let's help each other find what we're searching for: https://raddle.me/f/findaraddle

There is a way to do it without breaking the bank, but it would take a lot of coding and no one has stepped up to do it. It's not fair to put everything on emma's shoulders. If you know anyone that can code php, recruit them please.
