I've not been active enough lately to keep track of things. Can somebody tell me/us what's been happening?

Well, f/zen is u/ewk's cult and his pair of minions that want religious purity to their religion discourse, usually they don't accept criticism not a nuisance for the average Raddle user/lurker

It's hilarious that people are so scared of books that anybody reading them is a "cult follower" and that the person who reads first is the "cult leader".

When I call out this kind of ignorance for what it is... racially and religiously motivated bigotry, nobody tries to use books to prove me wrong.

I am a student of the period of history in China from roughly 550 CE (Bodhidharma) to 1350 CE (Mingben), specifically of the cultural phenomenon called "Zen" in English and Japanese, and "Chan" in China.

This had made me very unpopular with two specific groups of people active on social media: Japanese Buddhists, and new agers coming from the Alan Watts-Huxley-Campbell cultural movement of the 1960's.

I have been particularly effective in identifying a clear bias against Zen in those groups by using original sources from China, juxtaposed against historical writings from Japan and pop culture Alan Watts type stuff from 1960's and 70's. I also quote a LOT of academics writing for other academics.

My critics have retaliated with all the various means of harassing people online, including name calling, orchestrated harassment, and accusing me of being part of various cults/conspiracies. The fact that I'm not a "nice" person, and that I am particularly intolerant of illiteracy, religious privilege, and religious/racial bigotry, has certainly added fuel to the fire

This is though one of the few situations in which the drama is LESS interesting than the core dispute, especially since over the last two decades academia has started to swing hard in my favor.

Ehh, I don't think that's a good reason to ban them.

Edit: it seems they are mostly being rude and annoying rather than actually doing harm. Don't get me wrong I like strict raddle rules tho I think it shouldn't be used in such a flippant purpose as I don't see it as that serious

You got the reason on your side, it's not enough and I probably put the admin team on a bad position

OP admitted below that they made this proposal out of spite because they had off-topic content removed from the forum:

they deleted my only post there bc it was vilifying their sacred cult as it pointed the alliance between zen and fascism in Japan.

The reason for the removal of their content was explained to them in f/magick after OP went there to make ANOTHER off-topic contribution to a forum simply because they wanted to air their personal grievances with f/zen.

You can read that explanation here if you want.

And as was explained therein, this was already explained to the OP when their content was removed.

I think it's obvious that OP is simply upset and engaging in a harassment campaign.

If anyone would like to participate in on-topic discussion in f/zen, then here are some FREE resources for you to check out for your own education.

No, they're not pamphlets. They are historical texts from the original Zen masters.

If you don't know those texts, then you can't say that you really know Zen.

I mean ... right?

I think this is a slippery slope, next you'll want to ban any leftists who refuse to support a neoliberal project like the EU.

You are the first Left Panarchist I met....

How strange your position, trying to make a horseshoe a closed circle and then blaming neoliberalism for any fash entryism
